The Big Move

I have been terrible with the maintenance of my blog with the sale of the home and the search for our new one. With our home having been up on the market for 6 months, I really didn't think we'd sell before the holidays, which was disappointing. Then, BAM! They want us our by the end of the month! Good-bye, sweet little home!

The quest to find the perfect home for us was tough. We toured about 30 homes when we first put ours up (thinking it would go quickly). Then there was a dry spell for a while. When we got the offer, we hit the pavement running! But it was tough. We saw quite a few that were just beautiful homes, but they had a yard the size of a postage stamp, or were really close to a busy road. Not happening!

Ideally, we were wanting to find something oh-so-convenient to Chad's work and Lifetime Fitness. We did look at a few homes in close proximity, but they just didn't make the cut. We finally had it whittled down to 2 homes in West Jordan, within 1/4 mile of each other. They each truly had one-ups on the other. It was a difficult decision. We ended up going with a home with a great, private backyard. Rambler, twice as big as what we're in now. Nice, big living areas. A beautiful den with great built-ins. A craft area with built-ins (now I've got to take up a hobby!). It's going to be great. The elementary, middle, and high schools are within walking distance.

The next few weeks will be consumed with packing, cleaning, transitioning (thankfully the Barnetts, my in-laws are taking us in for a couple of weeks, bless their hearts!). But here is a sneak-peek at the house:

Backyard. We'll be taking out the trees in the middle of the yard and moving them elsewhere. The boys need to be able to kick a ball unobstructed.
Hooray for no more blue Formica and outdated cabinets!

Lovely, usable den!
