Grandma and Grandpa Bring Saturday Fun

Mom and Dad came up today for Colin's basketball game and also to spend some time with the kids. When Matthew first saw Grandma, he wanted no one else. He gives the best snuggles! What a sweetheart. He knows Grandma has a special place in her heart for him.

And Grandpa got some loves, too. Matthew not only snuggled Grandpa, but ran up to him and one point during Colin's basketball game and hugged his legs... just because. That'll give you warm fuzzies.

Mira sneaked off with my camera and took some pictures. She captured this one:

And this funny one:

Colin's team played their third game today against a really competitive team. They put up a hard fight, but Colin scored 3 shots and the team scored a total of 27 points, so they were pleased with their effort.

This morning before the game Chad said, "I don't know why I always get so nervous before the games." It's because you want your child to feel good about their performance. Chad's a great coach and Colin and Micah love having him. They even call him "Coach" instead of Dad during practices and games.

After the game Mom and Dad had some fun activities for the kids to do so that Chad and I could get out and get Christmas finished up. The first thing on the agenda was the yearly gingerbread house. Here are Mira and Colin, all ready to go:

Micah and Ella:

Since Matthew decided to nix naptime today, he watched the kids decorate their gingerbread houses. I think Mom and Dad divided and conquered. The girls worked on one house with one of them, and the boys did the other.

I'm sure Matthew thought the candies were irresistible.

Grandpa and Mira:

The final product. Good job, boys.

After the gingerbread houses, they all decorated cookies that Mom and Dad made the day before. And I know homemade sugar cookies take some effort. Mom made icing and they all went to town with the sprinkles. They turned out great.

Thanks, Mom and Dad for everything.

Your dad posted tons of pictures on his facebook. You can tell he's a proud grandpa. How can you not be with grandkids like those? I am one proud aunt.
